Outdoor Photoshoot in London & Surrey
Hopefully by now you've you've chosen work with me and decided to have an outdoor shoot. I run outdoor sessions throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn, and sometimes during winter on request, however these are rare with the British weather being so cold..
Throughout the years Iv been running my business, the one thing I always do is scout around to find the perfect spots to offer for your shoot. Sometimes, if Im lucky I will stumble on a true hidden gem and add this to my list. Having a list of recommended spots comes with extensive research, not only does it need to be aesthetically pleasing on the eye for the perfect images, but the angle of the sun direction at a specific times of the day will hugely impact your images. I always want to offer locations that are close to footpaths, carparks for ease, especially with young children and pregnancy, no one wants to be trecking through the wild, full of mud and exhausted upon arrival...But equally some place that is slightly secluded for privacy, no distractions so you can enjoy your shoot with ease.
I have listed some locations below that I have photographed in the past, all have a different look and feel but beautiful in their own right and all perfect for a pregnancy and family photoshoot
Nonsuch park, Surrey based on the borders of Cheam Surrey, is beautiful space during the summer months, with a section of long grasses, golden yellow wild flowers that glow in sunset sessions.. As you can see from the below images, the time of day dramatically changes the mood of your images with the first two shot during summer sunsets and the last being photographed during morning time.
There is a secluded spot away from prying eyes that you can just be yourself, stroll along the mown footpath in the middle or sit and chat with your loved ones whilst I work my magic...
This is up there as one of my favourite places to photograph... Home of past Lord Burlington the 18th Century magnificent villa, stands with a rich earthy colour palette that photographs well as a backdrop to your images. Set in 65 acres of land and offers glass houses that glisten in the sun with wisteria intertwining , kitchen gardens, old gothic style statues, small temples that are scattered around, all beautifully kept with a stream running alongside it. It really is a magnificent location for a shoot and is hard to imagine that this open space is in London.
One of the most popular locations I photograph in, Richmond park has so many different spots to choose from depending on the look and feel you want for your images, but it definitely is more about embracing the wild, breathing fresh air and being carefree!
Different seasons bring a different look and vibe to your images, high summer is when you get a mix between browning long grasses and bright green grasses in the wooded areas, a look that works well with the glowing summer sun. I always work within a 10 minute walk to a car park to avoid any stressful journeys..
One for the families, this London location is great for long walks throughout the year, jumping on the crispy leaves, making our way round to the footbridge, with nature all around and feeding the ducks by the lake. There is plenty to see here and more of a park feel than wild and secluded. When our time comes to an end, take your children for a hot chocolate and run in the playground. This location is about being outdoors and having fun with your children.
Set in 35 acres of land, Cannizzaro house and gardens is a really beautiful location, especially during spring/summer , when all the flowers bloom. Set just alongside Wimbledon common, it homes an ornamental garden, medicine garden, Italian garden with my favourite salmon wall to photograph you infront of and woods full of trees and wildlife.
Wimbledon Common
I photograph in Wimbledon common throughout different times of the year, from the below images, depending on the look and feel you want to create, from high summer sunsets with long grasses, autumn browns and deep winter snowy strolls.....we really can capture a different vibe for your shoot. Set on the doorstep of Wimbledon Village, once you have finished your shoot, grab a coffee or lunch in the vibrant high street.
Hamstead The Hill garden & Pergola
I have photographed here a few times and it's breathtaking. It makes the perfect setting for any photoshoot. The mix between the old ruins and beautiful flowers that bloom in the spring summer, it really is Londons best kept secret garden. Images to follow.
These are just a few of my top recommended locations I have photographed in the past, I do sometimes photograph within inner London but most come with expensive permits to photograph there.
